Generosity Commission

Launched in 2021, the Generosity Commission was established in response to a major shift in American civil society: while overall charitable contributions have grown, the percentage of individuals donating to or volunteering with nonprofits has declined.

Led by co-chairs Blackbaud President and CEO Mike Gianoni and Aspen Institute Vice President Jane Wales, the Commission is dedicated to empowering everyday donors and volunteers. It provides recommendations for policymakers, business leaders, philanthropic organizations, and social innovators to foster a culture of generosity, civic engagement, and partnership.
